ABOUT #BODBNC
Culture You Can Feel On Da Blok !
Gabrielle Mayo, a trailblazing athlete and entrepreneur from North Carolina, is recognized as one of the state's most celebrated female high school track and field athletes. In honor of "Gabby Mayo Day," proclaimed by Raleigh on November 7, 2006, Gabby is giving back to her community by creating "Blk On Da Blok," a vibrant platform for Black creatives to showcase their talents. This unique and price-accessible experience brings together creators, artists, and innovators, offering space for over 150 Black-owned businesses to highlight their designs, vintage treasures, apothecary products, food, and beverages. At Blk On Da Blok, every vendor, performer, and guest is empowered to express their individuality in an inclusive and welcoming environment, fostering community and creativity for all ages.
Additionally, a portion of the proceeds from this activation will be donated to "Sandra's Giving Heart," a non-profit organization that advocates for victims and survivors of sex trafficking, further enhancing the impact of this community initiative.
